The movie Ryu ga Gotoku was released yesterday (March 3rd 2007) in Japan, and as you may know, Ryu ga Gotoku is the original title of the popular 2006 PlayStation 2 game Yakuza. The movie is directed by none other than Takashi Miike (very big name in Japanese cinena, think Ichi the Killer) and stars Kazuki Kitamura (Azumi 1 and 2, Godzilla:Final Wars, Samurai Commando Mission 1549) as Kazuma, and Goro Kishitani (Returner, Tokyo Tower) as Goro Majima.
This movie is full-feature length of 110 minutes, as opposed to the shortmovie released in 2006 (was 46 minutes)
From the trailer, the story seems to focus on the battle between Kazuma and Majima, with Nishiki playing only a small role in the story. At any rate, I will go see this movie this week, so I’ll be back with an update. For now, enjoy the trailer on the official Yakuza Movie Japanese Website, as well as the following pictures.

Sangokushi is the title of the famous “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” series of strategy games in Japan. While this is one of the most import-unfriendly titles there is out there, it doesn’t stop us from checking out this cool ad! The game seems to be a direct port of the PS2 version, which has already been rereleased as a “Koei Selection” budget title.

I saw this product while browsing through Play-Asia’s most popular items, from the reviews it seems to be the best adpater to plug your PlayStation DDR mat in your PC in order to use it while playing games like StepMania.

This Musou Orochi (PS2) 2 pages print Ad also mentions the special Musou Orochi [Treasure Box] (PS2). Musou Orochi is the latest entry in Musou series on PlayStation 2, and is the Japanese version of the Dynasty Warriors series. As you may know, KOEI has been milking this series for all its worth, and this time, the added “twist” is that we get all the warriors from both the Dynasty Warriors series AND Samurai Warriors, with all the Dream Matches such a crossover implies.
And Yet, we all know Lu Bu is invincible.
