Check the Japanese Video Games Rankings Archive, and you’ll find two rankings: Media Create from 2007.03.26 to 2007.04.01 and Famitsu from 2007.03.19 top 2007.03.25!

So I finally sat down and did a little script to automate the generation of the Rankings archive, which previously had to be updated by hand by yours truly.
Of course, I got in the zone and came up with a really nice presentation that shows lots of info, such as the number of games for each console appearing in each Ranking, and threw in the percentage for good measure. It’s now very easy to understanding how Nintendo is dominating Japan with the Nintendo DS and Nontendo Wii!
You can check it out by clicking on the “Rankings” button at the top, by simply following this link to the Japanese Video Games Rankings Archive

As you may know, the Famitsu Top 30 is always one week behind the Media Create Top 50, and yet we still take the time to put it up on the web site every week. Why bother with a smaller ranking that tells us something we already know? Well, simply, the Famitsu Top 30 features sales numbers for each of the 30 titles, as opposed to only 10 in Media Create! Now, you understand.
